{"product_id":"luanne-s-basement-vintage-ceramics","title":"Luanne’s Basement Vintage Ceramics","description":"\u003cp\u003e Luanne started ceramics in the late 60’s and in the early 70’s she opened a traditional ceramic shop in her basement.  People would come select a piece of greenware from her shelves, they would trim and sand the mold seams the ceramic would be fired and they would come back weekly to paint, glaze or stain their projects.  Ceramacists would slip cast the molds that they owned and they would buy greenware from each other so they’d have difference in their selections without purchasing all the molds themselves. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLuanne went to work full time for Principal in 1980 and her little ceramic business and her shelves full of greenware have just been sitting there, apparently for a woman crazy about saving ceramics from dumpsters and always excited for a treasure hunt.  There are many pieces in this collection that I have never seen before and may never see again or be able to find the mold.  We carefully packed it all up, greenware is a piece of ceramic before it’s first firing.  It’s very brittle and every piece has to be trimmed and sanded.  Our ceramacist Amanda and her apprentice Darren have been working on the collection a bin at a time prepping it for its first firing and we’re bisque firing them as the previous step is completed, once all that effort has been put into the pieces they then have to be photographed and added to our website which is also time consuming, so I thought before I tackled that project I’d give you all an opportunity to lighten the load.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1st Dibs PRE-SALE Friday night September 18th 6pm-10P - $20 ticket which is a credit toward your project.
